Twitter and Square on Tuesday designated Juneteenth, which celebrates the end of slavery in America, as a company holiday the latest conciliatory overtures by major corporations since the widespread protests over police brutality and the death of George Floyd.


After much consideration, monitoring and discussion, the Juneteenth Planning Committee has decided to postpone this year’s Camden Juneteenth Celebration. The event was originally scheduled for June 19-21. With the number of coronavirus cases in Arkansas and its bordering states continuing to increase daily, it is in the best interest of our participants, vendors and performers that we wait until a later time to hold the event.
